The story of this brand is truly peculiar and deserves to be told.
D.A.T.E.is a company that producesshoesand is based inEmpoli. It all starts with the initiative of four twenty-year-olds who decide to give voice to their desires and design astartup. It was 2005 when they met in London and decided to embark on this new adventure, namely the creation of theirline of sneakers.
The promoters of this initiative areDamiano,Alessandro,TommasoandEmiliano. They undertook this project together, which immediately shows their union:D.A.T.E.is simply the acronym of their names. With the typical hope of an age in which dreams seem to be able to turn into reality, they set up a workshop on their own in Emiliano's garage. It will be there that they will meet every night, each after having already faced their working day.
After months they manage to produce the first D.A.T.E. collection by hand. In January 2006 they couldexhibitin a small space atPitti Immagine Uomo. The shoes, entirely handmade, immediately conquer the public and in just three days they will sell 8,000 pairs, thus becoming the newtrend of the season.
D.A.T.E.was born from the union of four minds but above all of four friends.
Damianois the one "born among shoes": since he was a boy he has been in contact with his father's shoe company, then he moves to London, works as Product Manager for Valentino and other brands, obviously before giving birth toD.A.T.E.
Then there isAlessandro, "the inventor of brilliant ideas", who studied Communication Strategies in Florence, before specialising in Fashion Marketing in Australia. It is here that he realises the idea of being able to create his brand of sneakers.
"The strategic planner" isTommaso, a graduate in Business Administration then specialises in Marketing in Australia and goes to work for an international consulting company, before diving into the new D.A.T.E. project
FinallyEmiliano, "the creative mind", a boy who learned the ancient art of footwear in Florence, and then collaborated in London with important brands such as Paul Smith and Escada. It was he who designed the first D.A.T.E. sneakers and continues to be the creative mind of the style office.
The Empoli-based company took off in 2006 in the world of fashion in arevolutionaryway:D.A.T.E.has completely cleared the concept ofsneakerseen solely as a sports shoe, proposing it as astyle accessory.
Over the years the company has become amodel of excellencein its sector and today D.A.T.E. has exported to Korea, Canada and the United States; naturally, it has also opened its stores in some Italian cities, including Milan.
